This is the preparatory department that provides the necessary skills and basic “rhythm feeling” for progressing on to ballet. Children receive training in balance and harmony in body movement. The curriculum consists of both kinetic and rhythmic exercises and games that develop body-control skills necessary for functioning as part of the dancing group. These skills will enable youngsters to operate at a later stage as part of the ballet team. To this end, the academy uses the Dalcroze training system. Children between the age of four and six may be admitted to this department.
